Our Denver Summer Concert Bucket List
Denver this time of year has a way of turning your harmony-hazed ambitions into full-blown core memories. One minute you’re boarding a plane, the next you’re screaming lyrics under the stars at Red Rocks, catching a stadium encore downtown, or taking the scenic route home with the windows down and your favorite song still stuck in your head.
This year’s concert lineup feels especially stacked, with world tours, cult-favorite bands, electronic legends, indie icons, and hometown heroes all making their way through our city’s most iconic venues. Whether you’re flying in for your dream Red Rocks show or planning the ultimate local staycation around your favorite artist, Catbird puts you close to the music while giving you an excuse to turn the whole trip into an unforgettable experience.
The Can’t-Miss Shows of the Season:
Red Rocks Amphitheatre
No Denver concert season is ever complete without at least one night at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, located about 40 minutes from Catbird. The venue itself almost overshadows the lineup: towering sandstone formations, unreal sunsets, hypnotic light shows, and the kind of atmosphere that makes even casual fans emotional by the second song. But this year’s schedule somehow still manages to steal the show.
Kesha kicks things off June 1 with what’s guaranteed to be one of the season’s most chaotic and joy-filled nights. A few weeks later, Lord Huron returns to the rocks on June 10 with their cinematic indie-folk sound practically custom-tailored for Colorado evenings. July belongs to some serious heavy hitters, including Deadrocks XII with Zeds Dead on July 2 and 3, plus a three-night run from The Avett Brothers from July 10 through 12. Nostalgia lovers can also expect a major moment when Hilary Duff takes over Red Rocks on July 20 for what’s guaranteed to be one of the most unapologetically millennial-coded nights of the season. Then comes one of the most anticipated stretches of the season: The Strokes taking over Red Rocks July 22 and 23. Add in the dreamy theatrical energy of Empire of the Sun on August 11, Mt. Joy’s indie-folk singalongs on August 14, and LCD Soundsystem bringing dance-floor chaos to the rocks August 15 and 16, and just like that, your calendar starts looking unavailable.
Want to skip the stress of driving to the venue? Catbird guests can also take advantage of our partnership with BusPartyCo, offering transportation to select Red Rocks shows with pickup located just across the street from the hotel at Black Shirt Brewing Co.
Mission Ballroom
Back in RiNo, Mission Ballroom continues its reign as one of Denver’s best indoor venues — and conveniently, one of the closest concert spots to Catbird Hotel, located less than a mile away. This summer’s lineup feels especially curated for people with extremely diverse musical algorithms. Lane 8 returns June 13 for another hometown electronic takeover, while Elderbrook brings his genre-blending electronic sound to the venue later that month. Interpol hits the ballroom July 31 with the kind of moody indie-rock energy that somehow feels even better in Denver, while Dillon Francis and Flosstradamus cap off August with a guaranteed all-out party.
Coors Field
For fans of giant singalongs and stadium energy, Denver’s larger venues are pulling major weight this year too. Noah Kahan takes over Coors Field August 8 and 9 after becoming one of the biggest names in folk-pop with songs that feel tailor-made for screaming alongside strangers. Later that month, My Chemical Romance returns on August 27 for what might genuinely become one of the most emotionally unhinged nights of the summer.
Empower Field
Empower Field’s lineup feels equally massive. Morgan Wallen closes out the last weekend of May with a back-to-back country stadium show on May 28 & 29, while Ed Sheeran’s July 4 performance is practically guaranteed to soundtrack thousands of IG stories across Denver. AC/DC rolls through July 28 with a level of rock nostalgia that, quite frankly, deserves its own category, while Zach Bryan wraps up the venue’s summer concert season August 13 and 14 with the kind of emotionally charged country-folk anthems that turn entire stadiums into one giant shared moment.
Ball Arena
Then there’s Ball Arena, where Olivia Dean arrives July 25 and 26 with her soulful, jazz-influenced sound and rapidly growing fanbase. Just a few days later, Benson Boone’s July 30 show is already shaping up to be one of the most prominent pop nights of the summer, while J. Cole headlines later in the season with a performance that’s guaranteed to pull one of the biggest crowds of the year.
The Underground Music Showcase
After more than 25 years on South Broadway, just south of downtown Denver, the Underground Music Showcase is officially entering a new era in RiNo this summer. The beloved indie festival is set to bring hundreds of performances to our side of town for the very first time, taking over local venues, outdoor stages, patios, and creative spaces throughout the neighborhood. Honestly, between the live music, murals, and walkable energy, RiNo feels like a natural next chapter for UMS.
Catbird - A Music Lovers’ Haven:
Of course, the best part about the 5280-concert season isn’t just the shows themselves. It’s turning them into an entire experience. Preshow playlists blasting along to the scenic drive to Red Rocks. Rooftop cocktails at Rook before Mission Ballroom. Late-night food after the encore. Sleeping in the next morning because nobody wants to drive home after a jam-packed three-hour set.
And that’s exactly where we come in.
Whether you’re visiting town for a concert weekend or planning the kind of staycation that winds up becoming the highlight of your summer, Catbird gives you apartment-style accommodations in the center of RiNo, just a beat away from the city’s best music venues, nightlife, restaurants, and post-show adventures.
Fully leaning into your rockstar era? The Suite Rockstar Experience package was basically built for this exact moment.
Because if there’s one thing we believe in, it’s that the most epic concert nights deserve more than just a place to lay your head afterward.
