I didn’t want to book a tour just to experience the neighborhood, so I ventured out on foot with my phone in hand and let curiosity lead the way.
One of my favorite parts of exploring my surroundings was how effortlessly the scenery shifted. Life-sized murals stretched across warehouse walls one moment, and the next I was standing beneath leafy trees at Confluence Park, watching the South Platte River and Cherry Creek wind past peaceful trails that invited me to slow down and simply take it all in.
One afternoon, I walked just a block and a half to the 38th & Blake RTD Light Rail Station and, one quick stop later, found myself at Denver’s legendary Union Station. From there, I wandered LoDo’s historic streets, popping into local boutiques, lingering on lively patios, and letting the day unfold at its own pace.
On my last full day, an easy rideshare brought me to Red Rocks, where I explored the iconic amphitheater before setting off along the surrounding trails. Towering sandstone formations and sweeping Front Range views made it feel like I’d stepped into another world.
Where the Evening Led
By late afternoons, I’d find myself back at Rook, where smart cocktails, outdoor pool tables, and panoramic views of the Denver skyline made it easy to lose track of time. One of these moments happened to take place on a Thursday during Beat the Bartender, adding a little extra energy to an already lively rooftop before deciding where the evening would take me.
And as the sun went down, RiNo came alive in a whole new way. Traveling solo gave me the perfect excuse to treat myself to some of Denver’s most talked-about restaurants, from Hop Alley’s celebrated Northern Chinese cuisine (ask a Front Desk Ambassador how you can get $30 off your order) to wood-fired pizza and oysters at Cart-Driver. Whether I found myself at Yacht Club or another neighborhood cocktail gem, quick and reliable rideshare options made getting back to Catbird simple, letting me savor my evening adventures without worrying about the trip home.
